WORKSHOP TITLE

VR Trainee Attention and Cognitive Load Assessment Using VR Headset Integrated Eye Tracking and Biophysiological Sensors

The HP Omnicept VR headset combines physiological sensing with cutting edge machine learning

WORKSHOP SYNOPSIS

Together we will discover how state-of-the-art VR headsets are capable of measuring the attention and cognitive load of users through eye tracking and other biophysiological measurements.

During the workshop, all participants will have the opportunity to test out VR headset hardware options, and participate in a data collection VR experience that will expose them to a few environments in which their attention and cognitive load measurements will be recorded.

Finally, we will give a review of how to construct a VR scenario that connects to these devices and displays various environments and collects the data. For this we will survey tools such as Unity and the Python based Vizard VR engine.

The digital note can be found at iitsec.worldviz.com. It includes a section that provides all Python source code for running the experiment conducted at the workshop.
