How to Create Animations from Basic Videos for SightLab VR Pro and Vizard Using DeepMotion

With DeepMotion, you can easily generate 3D animations from video in seconds through any web browser. In this tutorial, we show you how to use DeepMotion's AI powered motion capture with Ready Player Me for creating amazing animations for SightLab VR Pro and Vizard. Requirements:
Ready Player Me Account or Avaturn.
DeepMotion Account.
Video Source material with animation you want.
DeepMotion Setup:
First Sign in with your existing account or Sign up to create a new account.
Click the Go to portal button.
User Interface Deepmotion:
Click on Animate 3D to enter the correct interface to create the desired animation.
Click on 3D Models.
Here you have the option to View, Create or Upload your avatars.
If you already have an avatar saved on your computer, you can upload it as a FBX, GLB, VRM file.
To create a new avatar, click Create.
Here you can choose between two third-party avatar creators.
This tutorial is about the Ready Player Me creator, so click the left icon with Stylized Avatars above it.
If you already created a Ready Player Me Avatar on their website, you have to sign in with the button below.
To create a new avatar, click through the options presented on the screen.
After you are done with the process, you can find your avatars in the 3D Models section.
Creating an animation with your character:
On the home screen, which you will find by clicking the Home button on the left, you can create a new animation by clicking the Create button in the middle.
Start the animation process:
This window offers various options for the animation process.
You then must upload the video you want to be converted into an animation to the website. You can do this by dragging and dropping or by clicking the Browse files text.
Select your custom avatar by clicking the designated button.
Scroll down to animation output settings.
Now click the Create button and the video will get processed.
After s short waiting period, you have the option to download your video in your desired file format.
Recommended are the settings below:
Finish process and download the file:
The screen displaying the progress of the animation.
After the process is complete, you can view the finished animation with the source video in the background.
To download the animation, click the blue Download button.
Choose your desired file type (FBX, BVH, GLB).
Click the Download button to save the animation to your computer.
You can now import it into the WorldViz software and use it to create new scenes and more. To add to SightLab VR Pro, see this page on adding avatars. For both Vizard and SightLab VR Pro you can open the avatar in Inspector (Tools-Inspector) and view the animations on the bottom left:
Add the avatar to your scene using nameofAvatar = vizfx.addAvatar(‘nameofAvatar.osgb’)
To change the animation use avatarName.state(1), where “1” is the animation state you can find in Inspector.
Congratulations, you have successfully created your first animation with your own avatar.
