3. SightLab Examples

SightLab provides pre-built examples to demonstrate the capabilities of the Manus Prime 3 Haptic Gloves. These can be found in the following directory:

SightLab Projects\ExampleScripts\Hand_Tracking_Grabbing_Physics

3.1 Example 1: ManusGlove_Grabbing

This example showcases basic object interaction and haptic feedback.

Features:

  • Physics-based finger interactions
  • Object grabbing for 3 blocks in the scene
  • Vibration feedback when fingers touch objects
  • Object reset functionality
  • Data logging and real-time value display

Usage:

  • Touch objects with your fingers to feel vibration feedback.
  • Grab and manipulate the 3 blocks in the scene.
  • Place your hand in the sphere to drop and reset objects.
  • Press number keys for additional functions:some text
    • '1': Test vibration on index finger
    • '2': Print distance between index finger and thumb
    • '3': Print angle of index finger
  • Finger rotation data for the index finger will be saved in handData

For more details, visit the SightLab Hand Tracking and Grabbing documentation.

3.2 Example 2: Manus_handTracking_gestures

This example demonstrates gesture-based control and object interaction.

Features:

  • Gesture control of a chicken avatar
  • Real-time gesture display on a text panel
  • Ability to grab guitar objects

Gesture Controls (Right Hand):

  • Index finger point: Move up
  • Fist: Move back down
  • Index and little finger point: Fly
  • Little finger point: Stop flying
  • Middle finger point: Rotate

Available Gestures:

gestureName = ['Fist', 'Index finger point', 'Middle finger point',

'Two finger point', 'Ring finger point', 'Ring-Index finger point',

'Ring-middle finger point', 'Three finger point', 'Little finger point',

'Index and little finger point', 'Little-middle finger point',

'Not ring finger point', 'Little-ring finger point',

'Not middle finger point', 'Not index finger point', 'Flat hand', 'Undefined']

4. Integration with SightLab VR Pro

SightLab VR Pro allows easy integration of Manus gloves into any VR script:

  1. Select "Manus SteamVR" or " Manus OpenXR" from the hardware selection dropdown.
  2. Add hand tracking, object grabbing, and haptic feedback to your scene.
